Sony ups Valentine

Exec named executive VP, studio operations

Sony Pictures Entertainment has promoted Scott Valentine to executive VP, studio operations.

In his new role he will oversee stages, production offices, transportation department, and other on-lot facilities. Among his new initiatives: Building a live audience stage for “The Queen Latifah Show.”

Valentine was previously senior vice president of studio operations.

He’s been with Sony Pictures for 30 years; his experience includes overseeing props and wardrobe, motion picture budgeting and forecasting, pay TV and theatrical distribution.

He previously reported to Gary Martin, who is retiring. He will now report to exec VP and CFO Dave Hendler.
