Sherry Lansing Honored Israel Film Festival

Sherry Lansing has been tapped to receive the Israel Film Festival’s lifetime achievement award.

The kudo will be presented April 18 at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills at the opening night of the festival, now in its 27th year.

Lansing spent almost 30 years in the motion picture business, becoming the first woman to head a major film studio when she was appointed president of 20th Century Fox. She was chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures for more than 12 years before leaving in 2006.

Lansing’s credits as an independent producer include “Fatal Attraction,” “The Accused,” “Indecent Proposal” and “Black Rain.” She heads the 8-year-old Sherry Lansing Foundation, a nonprofit for cancer research, health, public education and encore career opportunities.

Past recipients of the fest’s lifetime achievement award include Kirk Douglas, Arnon Milchan, Mike Medavoy and Avi Lerner.
