Phillip Noyce directs the indie action-thriller

Sam Worthington will topline indie action-thriller “For the Dogs” with Phillip Noyce directing from a screenplay penned by Oren Moverman based on Paul Leyden’s adaptation.

Sierra/Affinity is handling international sales for the project for buyers in Berlin. Paradigm will be handling domestic sales.

Anthony Rhulen and Navid McIlhargey will produce thourgh their FilmEngine Entertainment shingle. Worthington, John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz are also producing through their Full Clip Prods. banner along with Leyden.

Story, based on Kevin Wignall’s novel of the same name, centers on a solitary assassin who agrees to help a bright college girl exact revenge on those who mercilessly murdered her parents and younger brother.

Worthington was most recently seen in “Wrath of the Titans” and “The Debt.” Noyce’s directing credits include “Salt,” “Rabbit Proof Fence,” “The Quiet American” and “Clear and Present Danger.”

Moverman wrote and directed “Rampart” and “The Messenger.” Leyden wrote the screenplay for “The Factory” and recently finished lensing his directorial debut “Come Back to Me.”
