In Aussie helmer Cate Shortland’s “Lore,” Rosendahl made a striking impact in the eponymous role as a Nazi daughter forced to flee across Germany with her siblings as the Third Reich collapses around them in 1945. An encounter with a young Jewish refugee forces her into a painful coming of age. The jury said, “Saskia is able to transform herself and show an incredible range of emotions — without very much dialogue. She is a true natural talent, and with ‘Lore,’ is making a phenomenal debut as she embarks on the transition from child to woman.”
