Phase 4 Films and XLrator Media have jointly acquired North American rights to crime thriller “Jamesy Boy,”  starring Mary-Louise Parker, James Woods, Ving Rhames, Taissa Farmiga and Spencer Lofranco.

Deal was announced Saturday at Cannes, where Atlas International is handling international sales.

“Jamesy Boy” is produced by Synergics Films and Star Thrower Entertainment. Producers are Tim White, Wayne L. Rogers, Steven P. Saeta, Maria Norman, Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.

The movie is directed by Trevor White and written by White and Lane Shadgett.  It’s based on a true story of a teenage James Burns (played by Lofranco) who goes from the suburban street gangs to a maximum-security prison, where he forms a friendship with a convicted murderer (portrayed by Rhames) who helps him turn his life around.

The deal was negotiated by Larry Greenberg of Phase 4 and Barry Gordon of XLrator with the Paradigm Finance Group on behalf of the filmmakers.
