Phase 4 Snags Rights 'Adventures the

Distributor plans theatrical and on-demand release in October

Phase 4 Films has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to “Adventures in the Sin Bin,” the comedy that bowed last year at the Seattle Intl. Film Festival.

The pic from writer Christopher Storer and tyro helmer Billy Federighi centers on a teen who loans out his retro van — the “Sin Bin” of the title — for his friends’ sexual encounters, while remaining a frustrated virgin himself. Played by Michael Seater, the young man finds himself stuck in a love triangle when he meets a classmate’s girlfriend. Cast also includes Jeff Garlin, Tim Blake Nelson, Gillian Jacobs and Bo Burnham.

Produced by Dante Federighi, the film won a festival award when it preemed in Seattle and also played the Hamptons Intl. Film Fest later that year.

Phase 4’s activities include the sales, marketing, licensing and distribution of movies, TV and other content in the North American market. The company’s recent releases have included “The Baytown Outlaws,” starring Eva Longoria and Billy Bob Thornton, and Keanu Reeves topliner  “Generation Um,” with “Sin Bin” joining a slate of upcoming releases such as doc “The Crash Reel” and Anna Paquin starrer “Free Ride.”

Phase 4 has lined up “Sin Bin” for an Oct. 4 release both in theaters and on demand.
