PGA adds to ProShow contest

Reality TV, online content, feature film to be included

The Producers Guild of America has added reality TV and online content to its PGA Producers Showcase competition along with feature film.

The ProShow contest has been set to take place in conjunction at the fifth Produced By Conference, to be held June 8-9 at the Fox lot. Development partners are Fox International Prods. for film; Ryan Seacrest Prods. for reality TV; and Maker Studios for online.

Five finalists will be selected in film and three in each of the new categories, and the winners in each category will enter into a development deal with the partners for their project. Past judges have included Gary Goetzman, Marshall Herskovitz, Gale Anne Hurd, Stu Levy, Bill Stuart and Paula Wagner.

“The Producer’s Showcase has grown each year, and with our new development partners we can offer a concrete path to greenlight,” said Levy, co-chair of the PGA’s international committee and chair of the PGA Producers Showcase.

The finalists will be announced in May and invited to participate in the conference, meet with the development partners to discuss their projects in detail and compete for the grand prizes. Eligible producers can register at Withoutabox, submitting their screenplay synopsis, bio and application.
