Exec, who comes from Chernin Entertainment, will serve as executive VP at Feigco.
Henderson will be in charge of finding and developing new projects for the company to produce as well as shepherding ones generated internally. Joshua Thurston has also been upped to creative exec.
Feig and Feigco Entertainment recently signed a first-look deal with Fox and the shingle’s focus will be on commercial, four-quadrant comedy with strong global appeal, with continued emphasis on strong female characters.
Feig, who created “Freaks and Geeks” and helmed “Bridesmaids,” is looking forward to another big year with comedy “The Heat” starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy bowing June 28. The film played so well in test screenings that Fox moved it from a spring release to the heart of summer.
The banner is also developing an untitled mother-daughter action comedy written by Katie Dippold, directed by Feig and produced by Chernin Entertainment.
