Helmer developing 'Peanuts,' 'Susan Cooper'

Fox has tapped Paul Feig to produce, and possibly direct, an untitled comedy pitch from Melissa Stack.

Fox-based Feig and Jessie Henderson are producing under their Feigco shingle. Stack will script and the logline is under wraps.

Feig directed “Bridesmaids” for Uni and “The Heat” for Fox. The studio has already dated his spy comedy “Susan Cooper,” starring Melissa McCarthy, for May 22, 2015.

Feig recently launched development of a comedy spinoff movie based on “The Heat’s” Beth and Gina characters. In October, it was announced he would produce and oversee an animated “Peanuts” movie for Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios.

Stack wrote the comedy “The Other Woman,” which Nick Cassavetes directed for Fox with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. The story centers on a wife and mistress who find out their man has a second mistress.

Feig is repped by CAA and Stack is repped by Paradigm.

Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.
