Ozploitation?

'Playbook' team celebrated Australia Day with a handful of kudos

The “Silver Linings Playbook” team celebrated Australia Day with a handful of kudos, including best picture, from the second annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Intl. Awards at WeHo’s Soho House on Saturday.

“I’ve slept in the same bed as Robert De Niro,” said supporting-actress winner Jacki Weaver, swooning over her “Playbook” co-star onstage.

“I did the same with Jacki,” ribbed De Niro, winner in the supporting-actor category.

Quentin Tarantino, nabbing the screenplay honor for his “Django Unchained,” stressed coining rights for the term “Ozploitation.”

Host Russell Crowe put the whole Aussie holiday into perspective, noting, “What will be happening in Australia right about now is pretty much most of the population is waking up with some form of hangover.”
