Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass are set to star in Lionsgate medical thriller “Reawakening” with Jason Blum producing.

“Jiro Dreams of Suishi” helmer David Gelb will helm with Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater penning the script.

The story follows a team of research students that discovers the secret to bringing subjects back from the dead — however, their actions result in a series of sinister consequences.

Blum will produce through his Blumhouse banner along with Mosaic Media Group. Matt Kaplan and Dawson are exec producing.

Erik Feig, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s president of production, and John Sacchi, Lionsgate’s executive VP of production, will oversee the project for the studio.

With a wave of interest in the “Frankenstein” storyline (Fox has one and Lionsgate also has “I, Frankenstein), the pic gives Lionsgate a project with a similar theme but with an original twist.

Wilde is repped by WME and Untitled Entertainment and can be seen next in Universal’s racing pic “Rush” as well as Paul Haggis’ “Third Person.” The ICM Partners-repped Duplass was recently seen in “Zero Dark Thiry” and “Safety Not Guaranteed” and can be seen next in New Line’s “Tammy” and Open Road’s “Parkland.” Duplass can also be seen on the FX series “The League,” and his HBO pilot “Togetherness” was recently picked up by the network.
