Avi Lerner's Banner Looking To Expand
He’ll report to Boaz Davidson, head of creative affairs. “This is a natural transition and an area we are keen to expand,” Davidson said.
“Olympus,” starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman, opens Friday via FilmDistrict with expectations for performance at the box office in the $20 million range.
Yunger has worked closely with Millennium topper Avi Lerner and president Mark Gill over the past two years in such areas as casting Chuck Norris in “The Expendables 2.” He also worked on “Lovelace,” starring Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, James Franco; “The Iceman,” starring Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder, Chris Evans; and “Killing Season,” starring Robert De Niro.
Yunger will report directly to Davidson, closely, alongside Gill and continue working closely with Lerner. He was named last fall as one of Variety’s “10 Assistants to Watch.”
Millennium Films dates back 1996, four years after Lerner, Trevor Short and Danny Dimbort lauched Nu Image. Its biggest recent success is the “Expendables” franchise, with the two films combining for nearly $600 million in worldwide grosses.
