Virgil Films planning first quarter release

Virgil Films has acquired U.S. rights to horror film “Foreclosure,” starring Michael Imperioli, and plans a first-quarter release theatrically and on VOD.

The deal was announced at the Toronto Film Festival.

Ged Dickersin is the producer. “Foreclosure,” directed by Richard Ledes from his own script, will be the third Ledes title that Virgil has distributed, following the Elliott Gould-starrers  “Fred Won’t Move Out” and “The Caller.”

Imperioli plays a man who travels with his young son and his father-in-law to the house of a recently deceased relative. Horrifying events occur after he  discovers a disturbing photograph in the basement.

Also starring are Spencer List, Bill Raymond, Wendell Pierce, Matt Servitto and David Costabile.

Deal was negotiated by Virgil Films President Joseph Amodei and Josh Braun of Submarine Entertainment.
