Dardenne brothers directing, producing

Sundance Selects has bought U.S. rights to Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne’s upcoming drama “Two Days, One Night,” starring Marion Cotillard, Fabrizio Rongione and Olivier Gourmet.

The deal with Wild Bunch was announced at Cannes. The Dardenne brothers are producing for Les Films Du Fleuve, with Denis Freyd for Archipel 35 also producing the movie, which is in pre-production.

The Dardennes are directing from their own screenplay. Cotillard will portray a woman searching for colleagues prepared to sacrifice their bonuses so she can keep her job.

Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, noted that the distributor worked with the brothers on the U.S. release of their last film, “The Kid with a Bike.”

The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with Carole Baraton for Wild Bunch on behalf of the filmmakers.
