Man of Steel 3D

'Monsters University' also set to show before opening

The Los Angeles Film Festival will screen Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures’ “Man of Steel” on June 12, the day before the fest starts. Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” will screen two days before the film opens to the public on June 14, and festival passholders will be able to book tickets starting Friday ahead of the public.

The fest has also added a screening of Disney-Pixar’s “Monsters University” on June 18, ahead of its June 21 opening. Other programming added includes a discussion with Spike Jonze and a June 22 screening of docu “A Brand of His Own: Being Spike Jonze,” a June 20 event honoring costume designers entitled The Iconic Moment, including a screening of “Vertigo” and Women in the Cut: A Celebration of Women Editors on June 22.

“It’s an honor this year to honor women editors, listen to legendary costume designers discuss their favorite iconic moment in film and then watch ‘Vertigo’ outdoors at the Academy Lab,” said fest director Stephanie Allain.

The L.A. Film Festival runs June 13 to June 23, opening with Pedro Almodovar’s “I’m So Excited!” and closing with “The Way, Way Back.” Tickets and information are available at LAFilmFest.com.
