Look Effects says it is adding a studio location overseas to its list of international cities.
The growing visual effects company will be starting operations in Stuttgart, Germany. It already has studios in Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver.
“We chose that location because one of our partners is German and two years ago, when we visited during the FMX conference, we loved it,” said Pam Hogarth, Look Effects director of marketing. “We found the support from government and a great talent pool that isn’t available everywhere else. And then the right project came along.”
Look’s first project in Germany will be Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” which is scheduled for release in 2014.
Look Visual Effects producer Jenny Foster and digital supervisor Gabriel Sanchez are in Stuttgart to manage the venture.
