Keegan Allen joins Franco’s ‘Bukowski’

Shooting on literary feature began Jan. 22 in LA

Keegan Allen has landed a key role in James Franco’s “Bukowski” opposite Tim Blake Nelson, Josh Peck and Jacob Loeb.

Shooting began Jan. 22 in Los Angeles with Tim Blake Nelson, Josh Peck and Jacob Loeb starring. Franco’s Rabbit Bandini banner is producing and Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy are exec producing.

Story, written by Adam Rager, focuses on the poet/novelist’s early years, from the age of 6 to 17, his struggles to cope with his brutal and bullying father, the disfiguring acne that made him a teen recluse, his alcoholism and his first tentative efforts to transcend his surroundings through writing.

Allen portrays Jimmy Haddox, one of Bukowksi’s closest friend. He stars on ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” and recently completed shooting the indie “Palo Alto Stories,” directed by Gia Coppola.

Allen is repped by APA and Konrad Leh of Creative Talent Group.
