Jude Law’s ‘Dom Hemingway’ Bought By Fox Searchlight

Release of safecracker comedy set for 2014

Fox Searchlight Pictures has acquired rights to Jude Law’s black comedy “Dom Hemingway” for North America as well as have France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Poland.

The film, produced by Jeremy Thomas at Recorded Picture Company and directed by Richard Shepherd, is scheduled to be released in 2014.

Law portrays a safecracker who’s been released from prison after 12 years. He and his partner, played by Richard E. Grant, look to collect what he’s owed while protecting his boss, portrayed by Demian Bichir.

Emilia Clarke portrays the daughter of Law’s character.

The deal was brokered by Fox Searchlight’s Tony Safford and Megan O’Brien, with HanWay Films’ Thorsten Schumacher and Jan Speilhoff on behalf of the filmmakers.
