USC has opened its doors to 20th Century Fox film topper Jim Gianopulos, who today accepted an invitation to the School of Cinematic Arts’ Board of Councilors.
Board plays a leadership role in the school’s overall planning and development as well as its fundraising efforts.
“Throughout his career Jim has always been dedicated to finding and supporting the next visionary filmmaker or technology, and that fits right in with our goal as a Board,” said board chair Frank Price.
Gianopulos oversees all of Fox’s feature production, global marketing and distributino, spanning the broadcast, cable, home entertainment, digital and mobile markets. Studio, under him, has released the top B.O. hits of all time: “Titanic” and “Avatar.”
Additionally, Gianopulos serves as a governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, is member of the board of the Motion Picture & Television Fund and trustee of the American Film Institute.
New councilor joins industryites including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Sidney Poitier and Robert Zemeckis.
