Jim Caviezel Leads Cast of High School Football Drama

Shooting begins this week in New Orleans

Jim Caviezel, Laura Dern, Michael Chiklis and Alexander Ludwig are toplining Thomas Carter’s high school football movie “When the Game Stood Tall.”

Shooting began Monday in New Orleans with David Zelon producing. The movie, produced by Mandalay for Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and its AFFIRM Films division, is slated for a Sept. 19, 2014 release.

Caviezel portrays De La Salle High School football Coach Bob Ladouceur and Chiklis plays assistant coach Terry Eidson. Dern will play Ladouceur’s spouse and Ludwig has been cast as a star running back.

The team went on a 151-game winning streak from 1992 to 2003.

Scott Marshall Smith’s screenplay is based on Neil Hayes’ book “When the Game Stands Tall: The Story of the De La Salle Spartans and Football’s Greatest Winning Streak.”
