Jeff Franklin is COO; Najafi is main financial backer

Former ICM Partners chairman-CEO Jeff Berg has opened his new talent and literary agency, Resolution.

Berg is chairman of Resolution while veteran agent Jeff Franklin will serve as chief operating officer. Najafi Companies, a strategic private investment firm, will be the agency’s main financier.

Resolution will focus on the core functions of talent representation but will also provide a wide range of financial and advisory services including the sale of libraries and catalogs, financial transactions for media companies and the raising of capital for independent and studio films.

Those who have already joined the tenpercentery include Laura Li, former Universal Pictures and MGM senior international marketing and distribution executive Randy Greenberg and former Universal Pictures exec VP of business affairs and former CEO of Intermedia Pictures Jon Gumpert. Resolution is seeking to hire other agents as well.

Berg had been ICM’s chairman and CEO for 27 years until leaving the agency last fall to start his new venture.
