DP joins 13 other cinematographers who have received the honor

Guillermo Navarro has been selected as this year’s Kodak cinematographer-in-residence at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television.

The 10-week-long program — sponsored by the Eastman Kodak Company — was conceived in 2000 to allow students to learn the trade directly from industry veterans. The initiative connects professionals and academics through film screenings, workshops and one-on-one sessions.

The “Pan’s Labyrinth” (pictured) and “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” DP joins 13 other cinematographers who have received the honor, including Roger Deakins (“Skyfall”), John Bailey (“American Gigolo”), Owen Roizman (“The Exorcist”) and Allen Daviau (“E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial”).

Navarro will host a Q&A and screening of Guillermo Del Toro’s “Pan’s Labyrinth” on Nov. 4, at UCLA’s James Bridges Theater.
