Good Films enters ‘LAbyrinth’

FilmNation to handle international sales

LONDON — Good Films has acquired the rights to former Rolling Stone magazine journalist Randall Sullivan’s 2002 investigative book “LAbyrinth: Corruption and Vice in the L.A.P.D.”

The U.K. production company, which signed an international sales agreement in January with Glen Basner’s FilmNation Entertainment, adds the project to its slate of six films, which have budgets ranging between $10 million-$52 million.

LAbyrinth,” first serialized in Rolling Stone, looks into the events surrounding a notorious L.A. bank robbery, implicating several members of the L.A.P.D. and unveiling corruption throughout the political establishment.

The other films in the slate include “Invisible,” from playwright Tena Stivicic and helmed by Everado Gout; “The Infiltrator,” to be helmed by Brad Furman, adapted from the novel by Robert Mazur; “When a Crocodile Eats the Sun,” based on the book by Peter Godwin; “Postcard Killers,” based on the novel by James Patterson and Liza Marklund; “What I Loved,” based on the book by Siri Hustvedt; and “The F**k it Button,” helmed by Polly Steele. “Invisible” is set to lense in summer 2013.

FilmNation will be handling international sales on the slate at the Berlinale.
