Fox Exec Phil Provenzale Dies at 61

Phil Provenzale Obituary

Phil Provenzale, who served as senior VP of intl. post production and theatrical services at Fox, died of cancer Aug. 1 in Duarte, Calif. He was 61.

A 17-year veteran at Fox, he was brought to the company by Jim Gianopulos in 1996 after working at Carolco.

During his career at Fox, he headed the team which managed  the creation, localization and delivery of feature film and trailer elements to the growing international marketplace.

The well-respected exec faced the challenges of day-and-date release patterns despite films delivering later and later, the 35mm to digital  transition and the advent of 3D.

He is survived by his wife Andrea and two sons.

A funeral mass is set for Wednesday, August 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Euphrasia Catholic Church, 11766 Shoshone Ave, Granada Hills, Calif. The burial will be at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles. Donations may be made to City of Hope, the Cambodian Children’s Fund, Mend Poverty or the UCLA Ted Gagliano Brain Tumor Research Fund.
