Mooney headed Mouse's consumer products arm

Former Walt Disney consumer products topper Andy Mooney has resurfaced as CEO of outdoor apparel company Quiksilver.

Mooney was chairman of the Mouse’s massive consumer products division for 11 years, credited with nurturing the Disney Princess line into an international juggernaut before ankling in the fall of 2011. Previously he had been chief marketing officer at Nike.

“I am honored to lead Quiksilver, a company with a stellar reputation, a long, distinguished history of creativity and innovation and strong customer relationships,” said Mooney, 57, who starts Jan. 11.

Quiksilver brands include Roxy, DC, Lib Tech and Hawk for surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. It’s based in Huntington Beach, Calif. and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares were trading up 2.05% at $4.47 Thursday morning.
