Film Society of Lincoln Center to present ‘Lifecasters’

Jeremy Piven will host the Feb. 6 program

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will present “Lifecasters,” a film project of stories of Americans who have discovered creative ways of realizing their dreams later in life.

The Feb. 6 program features short films by Adam McKay, Shira Piven, Steven Bognar, Julia Reichert and the team of Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly.

Jeremy Piven will host.

The event will take place at the Walter Reade Theater and include the screenings as well as a live musical performance by MC5’s Wayne Kramer, a subject of one of the films.

“Lifecasters” is produced by the Bay Area Video Coalition and Sunny Side Up Films. It’s supported by PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and is scheduled for broadcast on Feb. 7 on PBS.

Gaudet and Pullapilly are executive producers for the project, which is also overseen by BAVC’s exec director Carol Varney.

McKay and Shira Piven produced and directed “The Beast and the Angel,” a short film profiling Kramer, chronicling his journey of finding hope and comfort through music.
