Film London’s finance mart extends Melbourne pact

Aussies, Kiwis set to attend PFM

LONDON

Film London’s Production Finance Market has re-upped its partnership with the Melbourne Film Festival’s 37ºSouth Market through 2015.

The partnership, in place since 2009, allows three producers from Australia and New Zealand, all of whom must have attended 37ºSouth, to travel to the PFM to pitch projects to international financiers.

“It is fantastic to be renewing this hugely important partnership,” said Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London and the British Film Commission. “It is beneficial to both our events, and allows the PFM to select from some of the best Australasian producers to attend. It also gives a unique opportunity to these producers, giving them access to a host of international financiers in London, something which is unlikely they would be able to do otherwise.”

Melbourne’s 37ºSouth Market is supported by the Australian state government of Victoria and takes place July 25-28, during the fest’s opening weekend.

Now in its seventh year, Film London’s PFM is supported by the British Film Institute, the Mayor of London’s office, the EU’s Media program, U.K. Trade and Investment and content financier peacefulfish. The two-day event takes place in October. Dates have yet to be announced.
