Maximilian Schell starrer to shoot in Algeria
Mathias Schwerbrock’s Film Base Berlin has boarded French helmer Philippe Diaz’s “The Last Days of Karl Marx,” starring Maximilian Schell.
The actor will portray the German economist and philosopher and is joined by German thesp Mario Adorf as Marx’s close friend and collaborator, Frederic Engels. Budgeted at €2.5 million ($3.35 million), the Cinema Libre Studio production is set to shoot in Algeria in December. The project is partially backed by the Algerian government. Marx spent several months in the country in 1882. He died in London the following year. Film Base Berlin co-produced Farhan Akhtar’s recent Indian hit “Don 2,” starring Shah Rukh Khan. Schwerbrock is also teaming with Moscow-based Horosho Prods. on helmer Vera Glagoleva’s “The Two Women,” an adaptation of Ivan Turgenev’s 19th century Russian play (also known as “A Month in the Country”) starring Ralph Fiennes.
I like to read an occasional review of a film. It seems you expect me now to pay $60.00 a month to do that. Guess again. There are plenty of other reviewers on line for free. Shame on you.
