AFM: Evan Rachel Wood’s ’10 Things I Hate About Life’ Re-Starting

Filming to re-commence in December in Los Angeles

Evan Rachel Wood’s indie comedy “10 Things I Hate About Life” is going back before the cameras in December after a year-long break in shooting.

Vision Films is representing the film both internationally and domestically and screening about 30 minutes of footage at the American Film Market. Thomas McDonell stars opposite Wood.

Andrew Lazar is producing with Gil Junger directing the follow-up to his 1999 film, “Ten Things I Hate About You,” which starred Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

“10 Things I Hate about Life” is the comedic story of a boy and girl who meet and fall in love – just when they are about to kill themselves — as their similar emotional state forms a bond that draws them both into happiness and takes them on a rollercoaster ride.

Filming will re-commence in and around Los Angeles and Malibu on Dec. 11 and be completed in April. Polaris Pictures’ Jeremy Wall arranged the financing with investor Legacy Point Capital helmed by Anne Brensley. Legacy recently funded the Janis Joplin biopic “Get It While You Can,” to be directed by Lee Daniels.

Junger has said that “10 Things I Hate About Life” is not a sequel to “10 Things I Hate About You” — based on Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” — but rather a story that advances the situations.
