Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's

Division to release a combo of 12 to 15 arthouse, genre and feature documentaries annually

Entertainment One Films U.S. has tapped distribution vet Ryan Markowitz to the newly created role of VP of theatrical sales and distribution.

He will be based in the company’s Manhattan office and responsible for all aspects of distribution, booking and collection for the domestic theatrical operation.

The division releases a combo of 12 to 15 arthouse, genre and feature documentaries annually. Titles include  “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s,” Brian de Palma’s “Passion,” Jim Mickle’s “We Are What We Are” and “Cuban Fury.”

Markowitz began his work with the company as consultant in early 2012, and managed releases for eOne’s U.S. slate including “A Late Quartet” and “Cosmopolis.”

Markowitz has spent 14 years in distribution, including slots at New Line Cinema, Picturehouse, Apparition, FilmDistrict and IDP. He’s worked on “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “Pan’s Labyrinth,” “The Young Victoria,”  “Drive” and “Robot & Frank.”
