Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger’ Premiere Tickets Cost a Cool Thousand Bucks

Event will benefit the American Indian College Fund

Think movie ticket prices are expensive? How about spending $1000 to see this summer’s blockbuster release of “The Lone Ranger”? Well at least it will be for a good cause. Disney announced today that ticket sales for the world premiere will benefit the American Indian College Fund. The event will take place June 22 at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.

Presumably premiere guests will get the chance to party with stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer and helmer Gore Verbinski.

“We’ve had a terrific collaboration with the Native American community throughout the production of Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger,’” said Walt Disney Studios chair Alan Horn.

Because Disney is also underwriting the entire cost of the premiere, 100 percent of the revenues received by the American Indian College Fund for the tickets will be used for scholarships and other support for Native American students.

The Lone Ranger’s horse Silver will make an appearance and an actual train engine built for the film will be on display at the premiere. Title sponsor Time Warner will be streaming the event live from California Adventure Park.

But don’t expect an authentic Southwestern ranch barbecue spread at the premiere. Catering is provided by Subway sandwiches.
