Spy thriller set in Paris

Baran Bo Odar has come on board to direct spy thriller “Bastille Day” for Vendome Pictures and Anonymous Content.

“Taken” director Pierre Morel had been attached to the project when it was set up last year.

Vendome Pictures CEO Philippe Rousselet is producing the project, along with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and David Kanter. Vendome is fully financing the production.

“Bastille Day” is about a young American art student living in Paris and a washed-up CIA field agent who are tasked with diverting an imminent attack on the city.

Bo Odar’s 2010 film “The Silence,” starring Ulrich Thomsen, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Burghart Klaußner and Katrin Saß, led to his selection as one of Variety‘s 10 Directors to Watch of 2011.

He is represented by UTA and by 42 Management & Production in London.
