‘Dhoom 3’ Grosses $58 Million in First Week

Dhoom 3 has record opening week

LONDON – Bollywood blockbuster “Dhoom 3” has collected $58 million worldwide in its first week on release.

Distributor and producer Yash Raj Films confirmed that the crime action thriller grossed $40.95 million (INR2.46 billion) in India and a further $17.02 million in overseas markets in the week since its release.

The overseas total includes $5.76 million in North America, $2.49 million in the U.K., $4.29 million in the Middle East and Gulf states (six days), $1.396 million in Australia and $1.71 million in Pakistan. All these numbers represent the highest opening week ever for an Indian film in the respective territories, according to YRF.

The film will next open in the Maldives, Rwanda, Egypt, Germany, Peru, Romania, Japan, Russia, the CIS and Turkey.

    its all a game of number of screens. chennai express came in 3500 screens, krish3 in 4000 and dhoom 3 in 4500. the screen count in india is increasing tremendously. we’ll have a 300cr (domestic) by the end of next year. d3 can go max 260-270cr

      this is not a big deal,
      there was not competition, no other indian were released in the Christmas competiion period
      it was hyped, and the they had not choice to watch only this
      most hindus and muslims don’t celebrate christmas so they had to pass their time
      and watch dhoom 3 ,
      we found it to be very silly and chessy, it’s not full fulling, too long and predictable…
