Shooting set for summer in Japan

David Linde’s Lava Bear and David S. Goyer (pictured above) — the screenwriter on the “Dark Knight” trilogy — has tapped Jason Zada to direct “The Forest,” a supernatural horror film set in Japan.

The project marks the feature directorial debut for Zada, best known for the short film “Take This Lollipop.”

“The Forest” will begin production in the summer in Japan. The film takes place in the Aokigahara forest.

Goyer also wrote the “Man of Steel” script and is working on the upcoming “Batman Vs. Superman.” He set up “The Forest” at Lava Bear last year.

Lava Bear has a first-look deal at Universal. Goyer recently signed a first-look deal at Warner Bros.

Zada is represented by UTA.

News of Zada’s attachment was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

  1. jasonss says:

Terrible writer. He has no depth in his storytelling. Rarely fully understand the characters.

I loved Man of Steel in spite of him.

Had they chosen a good writer, someone who writes great stories, rather than simply a fiction writer, MOS would have been much much better.

It is his participation on Man of Steel 2 that brings down anticipation in the movie.
