CW To Air Critics’ Choice Kudocasts in ’14

Ben Affleck looks askance at Sam

Affleck won award hours after Academy omission

The CW will air both the CriticsChoice Movie Awards and the Critics’ Choice Television Awards in 2014.

The CCMAs, set for a live broadcast Jan. 16 on the CW, are chosen by the Broadcast Film Critics Assn., while sister org Broadcast Television Journalists Assn. votes on the CCTAs, which will take place in June and air in entirely in primetime for the first time.

For the second year in a row, the CCMAs will take place hours after the Academy Award nominations are announced. Last year’s event provided Ben Affleck his first directing award (of many to come) after the Academy chose not to nominate him.

Nominations for the CCMAs will be announced Dec. 16.  Bob Bain Prods. and Berlin Entertainment will produce the show.
