Getting into other people’s heads was the topic du jour at the Gotham preem of A24’s “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III,” starring Charlie Sheen.
“To get into Charlie Sheen’s mind, I’d suggest reading his tweets. He’s super professional,” said Roman Coppola, who wrote and directed the comedy about an aging playboy struggling with the loss of his girlfriend. As for whose mind he’d really like to explore, Coppola said, “It’d be cool to get into the minds of Errol Flynn and Jean Harlow.”
Sofia Coppola hosted the screening at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema. “I have a close relationship with my brother, so it’s sweet to see that reflected in his film,” she offered.
Indeed, it was a family affair at the cinema as well as the afterparty at Hotel Chantelle, with Francis Ford Coppola there in attendance with his uncle, conductor Anton Coppola.
“My son has always had a whimsical imagination,” said the proud father.
