“This is more of a debut for friends and family and people out there in the community,” Coppola said at the after-party at Hollywood’s Wood and Vine. In attendance were thesps including Patricia Arquette, Katheryn Winnick, Jason Schwartzman and Aubrey Plaza, though the pic’s star, Charlie Sheen, was a last-minute no-show.
Still, Coppola reminisced fondly of the pair’s involvement on the film.
“He would say, ‘We’ve got to make a movie together one of these days.’ And I always thought that was very kind, that he valued that bond we had as kids,” Coppola said. “The script was written way before all of that public stuff with Charlie. He knew that I had his back, and he had mine.”
