CG Cinema Spins Pact for ‘Eden’ (EXCLUSIVE)

The French Touch EDM movement is chronicled in pic from helmer Hansen-Love

Charles Gillibert’s Paris-based CG Cinema has boarded “Eden,” from French director Mia Hansen-Love.

Spanning over the last two decades, the drama chronicles the rise and fall of one of the DJs who pioneered the French electronic dance music trend known as the French Touch in the 1990s.

The French Touch movement has given birth to such musicians as Daft Punk, Dimitri From Paris and Cassius.

Set in Paris and New York, “Eden” — budgeted in the $6 million range — features an international cast comprising Felix de Givry, Golshifteh Farahani, Laura Smet, Vincent Lacoste, Greta Gerwig and Brady Corbet.

Ad Vitam has taken French distribution rights. Gillibert reps international sales.

Principal photography is set to kick off in November.

Hansen-Love has gained critical recognition since her directorial debut, the Cesar-nommed “Tout est pardonne.” She went on to helm “Father of My Children,” winner of Cannes’ Un Certain Regard jury prize, and “Goodbye First Love,” which won a special mention at the Locarno fest.

Next up, Gillibert will reteam with Olivier Assayas — they have just commenced lensing of Assayas’ English-language debut, “Sils Maria” — on “Idole’s Eye” (previously titled “Hubris”), a crime thriller set against the backdrop of Chicago’s organized crime world in the 1970s.

Repped by CG Cinema, “Eye” will lense in Chicago during the first quarter of 2014.
