Walker's snowboarding doc to play as a Special showcase
Sundance player will screen Feb. 13 in the Berlinale Special showcase.
Walker’s documentary follows 26-year-old champion snowboarder Kevin Pearce, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during training in 2009, and his difficult recovery.
Helmer is a member of the Best First Feature Award jury, which selects debuts from the Competition, Panorama, Forum, Generation and Perspektive Deutsches Kino sections.
Walker has picked up a couple of prizes in Berlin for her previous docs, including Panorama audience awards for “Blindsight” in 2007 and “Waste Land” in 2010.
