Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Fifth Estate’ Debuts First Trailer

U.S. release of WikiLeaks drama set for Oct. 18

Benedict Cumberbatch channels WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in the first trailer for “The Fifth Estate.”

The fictionalized thriller, directed by Bill Condon, focuses on the evolution of WikiLeaks from a small project to the leaker of massive amounts of  classified data.

Assange has called the film a “mass propaganda attack” against WikiLeaks.

Disney will release the film in U.S. theaters on Oct. 18. Film also stars Daniel Bruhl, Laura Kinney and Stanley Tucci and is produced by DreamWorks and Participant Media.
