Artsploitation sets first theatrical release

Sci-fi drama 'Vanishing Waves' to debut March 15 in NYC

Newly minted Artsploitation Films has set its first theatrical release with Kristina Buozyte’s sci-fi drama “Vanishing Waves.”

“Vanishing Waves,” which swept the major awards at last year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, will open March 15 at Cinema Village in New York, with more cities to follow.

“Vanishing” stars Marius Jampolskis as a patient in a series of heavily monitored sensory deprivation experiments wherein he is attempting to make some form of contact with the a young woman (Jurga Jutaite) who has been locked in a comatose state.

Artsploitation Films was launched by former TLA Releasing topper Ray Murray last year. DVD releases include Indian movie “Gandu” on Dec. 18, “Lapland Odyssey” from Finland on Jan. 8 and “Hard Romanticker” from Japan this week.
