Gotti Anthony Hopkins

Shooting starts next month in Europe

Anthony Hopkins’ “The Kidnapping of Freddy Heineken” is heading toward production next month in Europe with Australian actor Tom Cocquerel joining the cast.

Informant Media (“Crazy Heart”) is producing “Heineken” with Daniel Alfredson directing.

The film chronicles the 1983 kidnapping of Dutch beer magnate Freddy Heineken and his driver Ab Doderer, who were released after payment of a record ransom of 35 million Dutch guilders. The kidnappers were eventually caught.

Cocquerel will play one of the kidnappers. His credits include roles on Australian television dramas “Love Child” and “Anzac Girls.”

Alfredson directed two parts of “The Millennium Trilogy” — “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.”

Cocquerel is represented by CAA and Ann Churchill Brown in Australia.
