Actioner based on Huston novel
Myriad will be pre-selling the film at the American Film Market next week and will work alongside agency APA on the U.S. sale.
The project re-teams Kramer with Baldwin, who received an Oscar nomination for his work in Kramer’s “The Cooler.”
Lost Rhino Films’ Marcus Chait, James Carpinello, and Patrick Wilson will produce. Paula Wagner is executive producing alongside Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico.
“Caught Stealing” is adapted by David Hayter (“X-Men”) from Charlie Huston’s novel of the same name.
Wilson will play a hotshot high school basketball player turned unlucky, going-nowhere bartender who mistakenly gets caught up in a bloody treasure hunt through New York City. Baldwin will portray a sadistic cop.
“Caught Stealing” is the first book in Huston’s Henry Thompson trilogy, followed by “Six Bad Things” and “A Dangerous Man.”
Kramer’s credits include “Running Scared,” “Crossing Over” and “Pawn Shop Chronicles.” He is represented by WME and manager Renee Tab at Sentient Entertainment.
