'Kikoriki: Legend of the Golden Dragon' attracts buyer interest

Timur Bekmambetov’s Russian shingle Bazelevs has closed distribution rights for the Baltic region with Acme Film on “The 4G Theory.”

The family adventure pic was helmed by Dmitry Kiselev and produced by Bekmambetov (“Wanted”).

Acme previously released Bazelevs’ “The Six Degrees of Celebration” and “Yolki.”

Bazelevs was one 18 Russian companies and organizations operating under the Russian Cinema banner at Cannes. Others included Art Pictures, RWV, Intercinema, the Riki Group, Wizard Animation, Rock Films, Master Film, Red Arrow, Reflection Films and Leevandia Ent.

Among Russian pics attracting buyer interest at Cannes were the Riki Group’s toonpic “Kikoriki: Legend of the Golden Dragon” and “The Land of Good Kids,” which is produced by Natalia Mokritskaya.
