Veteran to receive Bonner medal at Sci-Tech Awards

The AMPAS board of governors has voted to give visual effects supervisor and director of photography Bill Taylor the John A. Bonner Medal of Commendation.

The honor reflects “outstanding service and dedication in upholding the high standards”of the Academy and will be presented at the org’s Scientific and Technical Awards on Feb. 9.

Taylor co-founded Illusion Arts, where he worked on more than 200 films. He has vfx supervisor credits on such pics as “Lawless,” “Public Enemies,” “Milk” and “Bruce Almighty.”
