Romantic comedy premiered at Tribeca

IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to Kat Coiro’s romantic comedy “A Case of You,” starring Justin Long and Evan Rachel Wood, from Lagniappe Films.

Deal was announced during the first day of Cannes, where Red Granite is selling international rights. “A Case of You,” which also stars Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, Busy Philipps and Sienna Miller, premiered last month at Tribeca.

The film was produced by Long and O’Donnell with Holly Wiersma and Logan Levy. Exec producers are Brice Sanderford and Cassian Elwes.

Screenplay, penned by Justin Long, Christian Long, and Keir O’Donnell, follows a young writer with a crush on the  quirky barista at his local coffee shop. When his conventional attempts to woo her crash and burn, he takes his efforts online, creating an Internet profile embellished to make her fall for him.

The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with CAA and Cassian Elwes on behalf of the filmmakers.
