Thesp Nicholas Hoult boards ‘Birdsong’

'Warm Bodies' star joins Rupert Wyatt's WWI romancer

Warm Bodies” star Nicholas Hoult has signed on to Rupert Wyatt’s WWI romancer “Birdsong.”

The film will be produced by “Albert Nobbs” producer Alan Moloney and Wyatt. Lensing will take place in Belgium and the U.K.

Embankment Films represents worldwide sales starting this week at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Hoult will portray 21-year old officer old Stephen Wraysford who falls in love with a beautiful older married woman. Wyatt has adapted the screenplay from Sebastian Faulks’ novel.

Nicholas Hoult is the holy grail in my search for Stephen,” Wyatt said.

Warm Bodies” has generated some heat at the U.S. box office, topping the Feb. 1-3 frame with $20 million. He’ll be seen next in “Jack The Giant Slayer,” followed by “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “X Men: Days of Future Past.”

Hoult has also been cast along with Michael Shannon, Elle Fanning and Kodi Smit-McPhee in futuristic thriller “Young Ones,” written and directed by Jake Paltrow. Principal photography began Feb. 1 in South Africa’s Northern Cape desert.
