Content flies with ‘Crystal Fairy’

Company to sell international rights in Berlin

Content Film has picked up Sundance award-winner “Crystal Fairy,” starring Michael Sera.

Directed by Sebastian Silva, who won best director in World Cinema at Sundance last week, the comedy follows a group of friends in Chile who set off on a road trip to experience the hallucinogenic San Pedro cactus.

Gaby Hoffman and the director’s siblings Juan, Jose and Agustin Silva also star in the film, which was produced by Juan de Dios and Pablo Larrain, the makers of the Oscar-nominated “No,” starring Gael Garcia Bernal.

UTA Independent Film Group negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers with Content’s Harry White.

Content, which has all international rights excluding Chile, is selling the film at the EFM in Berlin.

IFC Films has North American rights.
