'Troll Hunter' Helmer Carry Out 'Autopsy

Goldcrest to present Andre Ovredal horror to buyers at AFM

Andre Ovredal, the helmer of fantasy horror movie “Troll Hunter,” is to direct psychological horror film “The Autopsy of Jane Doe.” Goldcrest Films will fully finance the pic and handle world sales. It will be pitched to buyers for the first time at the AFM.

Based on an original screenplay by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, “Jane Doe” is produced by Fred Berger (“Taking Chance”) and Eric Garcia (“Matchstick Men”) under their Impostor Pictures banner, alongside Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh of 42 (“Welcome to the Punch,” “Monsters: Dark Continent”). Goldcrest’s Nick Quested and Pascal Degove are exec producers.

Pic will shoot in London this winter, and sister company Goldcrest Post will handle post. Casting is to be announced.

Action takes place in a small-town, family-owned mortuary, where father and son coroners receive a mysterious homicide victim — a beautiful young “Jane Doe.” As they attempt to figure out how she died and who she is, they discover increasingly bizarre clues, which hold the key to terrifying secrets.

“Troll Hunter” generated huge buzz at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival with its blend of horror and humor. A U.S. remake is underway to be produced by Chris Columbus and helmed by Neil Marshall (“The Descent”).

They need Macaulay Culkin in this Troll Hunter remake! And the rest of the Home Alone cast! Then throw in Emma Watson for Kerry Potter fans, and you have one good family fun re-make!
