8th edition of Rome fest to run November 8-17

U.S. director, scribe, and producer James Gray will preside the main jury of the 8th Rome Film Festival, while director Larry Clark will head the fest’s more cutting-edge CinemaXXI section.

Rome topper Marco Mueller in a statement praised Gray, whose cult works include “Little Odessa,” “The Yards,” “We Own The Night,” and most recently “The Immigrant,” which unspooled at Cannes this year, as “a filmmaker who knows and loves film in all its forms.”

Clark won Rome’s top prize last year with his latest pic “Marfa Girl.”

The revamped Eternal City fest will run November 8-17.
